Digital Schools Awards is a new national awards programme which aims to promote, recognise and encourage a whole school approach to the use of digital technology in primary schools.
Schools that successfully complete the programme receive a nationally recognised Digital Schools Award supported by Department of Education Northern Ireland.
The 3 step programme has been developed to help schools assess progress and recognise excellence in the use of digital technology at primary level while providing practical support and encouragement
Receiving the Intermediate level of the International Schools Award in 2019 confirms that we, as a school:
- have made links with other schools overseas and have worked on collaborative projects
- have shared educational practice with partners overseas and are implementing changes across the school
- are raising awareness of global issues amongst students.
Taking part in the Eco-Schools programme has provided our school with an ideal way for fostering environmental awareness in a way that links to many curriculum subjects. The primary aim of working towards receiving the Green Flag was to educate and empower our pupils to make positive decisions and become change makers for an environmentally sustainable world.
We have worked hard to include pupils, teachers, non-teaching staff and members of the community to extend our learning beyond the classroom and develop responsible attitudes to caring for our natural world.

To receive Fair Active School status we had to:
1. Set up a Fairtrade group
2. Hold an assembly
3. Create an action plan
4. Hold an event
5. Take one of the Fairtrade challenges.
Through the topic of 'Fair Enough' in Prep 7 we were able to tackle each of these challenges.
